Directorate of Planning, Policy and Reseach

The Directorate of Planning, Policy and Research is a newly established Directorate at the Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social security. The Planning, Policy and Research Directorate is headed by an Acting Director yet not assisted by a Deputy Director as well as other supporting officers. It is made up of three Divisions namely; the Planning, Policy and the Research / Statistics Divisions.

The functions of the Department are as stated below:

  • Preparation of plans including Strategic Plan and Work Plan
  • Assisting policy formulation
  • Collection and processing of data and keeping statistical data and information in the Ministry
  • Monitoring and evaluation of plan implementation;
  • Conducting research activities into directorates over which the Ministry has jurisdiction;
  • Sorting and monitoring of performance and efficiency targets for the various directorates of the Ministry
  • Management of the Ministry’s records and information resources namely; Service Charter, registry and library services
