The Deputy Minister

Mr. Lansana Mohamed Dumbuya, the current Deputy Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, was appointed in 2018. He hails from Kambia, North-West of Sierra Leone.

Before his appointment as Deputy Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Mr. Dumbuya was a teacher. He also worked on Private Sector Development Projects with Non-Governmental Organizations like Action Aid, for 15 years.

He joined active politics in 2012 when he contested to become the Member of Parliament for the then Constituency 040 in Kambia District. He became the SLPP District Party Chairman in 2017.

Mr. Dumbuya holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from the University of Sierra Leone.  

He is married with 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls.
